Winners of Nordic Fest chairs announced

The Nordic Fest raffle of decorated Adirondack chairs has raised over $3,900, with the money going to support the Nordic Fest fireworks show.

Constructed by the Decorah High School cabinet making class under the direction of teacher John Condon, the chairs were painted by local artists.

The winners of a hand-painted chair were Tiphanie Keefe, Marie McIlrath, Kathi Bolson and Philip Iverson of Decorah, Phil Yocum of Mabel, Denise Jorgens of Chicago, Illinois, Doug Moore of St Louis Park, Minnesota and Ruth Lewis of Mazomanie, Wisconsin.

Nordic Fest Board members say any local artist interested in painting a chair next year is encouraged to contact the Fest Office at the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, 563-382-3990.
