Decorah High School FFA members do well at State Dairy competition

Nine Decorah FFA members have recently returned from the State FFA Dairy competition with a number of awards.

In the dairy evaluation category, Blake Courtney was the state overall individual dairy judging champion. He also was individual class champion in oral reasons and herd data evaluation. The dairy evaluation team of Blake Courtney, Tye Anderson, and Brendan Lovstuen earned third place in the state.

In the milk quality and category, the team of Hailey Nierling and Julianna Wise received a silver rating, and placed 15th and 16th overall as individuals.

In the dairy handling category, Ashley Nierling was the state champion.  Decorah FFA members who also placed included Garrett Lovstuen, gold; Ethan Frana, silver; and Jessie Carolan, bronze.
