It was perfect weather Sunday afternoon to film a documentary about former Luther College football player Chris Norton, so a crowd of students and other fans showed up to act as extras on the documentary "7 Yards."

The crowd was on hand to help a film crew at Carlson Stadium to film scenes that will be used in the documentary--scenes of stadium crowds and football plays and even a recreation of the play in which Norton was injured.

The film crew spent three hours on the Luther campus, then headed to the Des Moines area, where it will spend two more days of filming.  The goal is not only to shoot scenes that will be used in the documentary, but to have enough video to create a trailer for the documentary that could be released on October 16th--the 7-year anniversary of Chris' accident.  The documentary itself will be released next year.

The film is being produced by Fotolanthropy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing and distributing documentaries that celebrate hope.  You can donate to the project by visiting www.fotolanthropy.com/donate.  You can also follow the project on Facebook and Twitter @7YardsFilm.
