Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Why isn't Bob Bruce on the radio anymore?"

Posted: Wed, Sep 6, 2017 2:55 PM

(Randy e-mails: "Hey Mr. Answer Guy, what has happened to Bob Bruce, the guy from Decorah who's been working on the radio in Waterloo/Cedar Falls?"):

Mr. Answer Person says, "Bob Bruce is well known for his years on the air at WMT-AM in Cedar Rapids.  In 2014 he left there for a job in Omaha, but came back to Eastern Iowa in December of 2015 for the 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. air shift on News/Talk 1540 KXEL, Waterloo/Cedar Falls/Cedar Rapids.

Bob once described himself as "a radio lifer," but this year he began to think about taking a break and doing something different.  On August 16th he announced he was "taking an extended vacation" and leaving KXEL to open his own marketing and consulting company, something he had talked about doing.

Bob tells Mr. Answer Person, "I am grateful for the opportunity NRG Media gave me. At 50 and after 32 years on-air, I'm ready to find out what life off-air is like and how the real world works. I'm starting a consulting company called KRAB Consulting (the first letters of my girls' first names) that utilizes what I've learned along the way. If anyone is interested, please reach out! My cell is (319) 899-4302. Email is krabconsulting@gmail.com. On Twitter @krabconsulting."

Bob says he thanks all his guests and his listeners over the course of his radio career in Iowa."
