Many downtown Decorah businesses participated in a welcome event for Luther College students on Saturday afternoon and the feedback has been extremely positive, according to event co-organizer Brittany Todd.
Todd says she is pleased with the number of businesses and students who participated. A representative from Vesterheim Museum told Todd they had more Luther students visit the museum on Saturday than they ever have in the past. Downtown clothing retailers reported a steady crowd of customers all afternoon, and the line at the Sugar Bowl could be seen out the door and down the sidewalk.
Todd says her vision is to build on the event and make it an annual occurence. "Overall it was a great success and I look forward to doing it again next year."
