The Frankville Fire Department has gotten a $5,000 grant from Farm Credit Services of America's "Working Here" grant program.
The money will be put toward replacement of the department's 1981 brush truck. The Farm Credit program makes money available for larger, more long-term community projects focused in rural communities of 5,000 or fewer people.
A fundraising raffle is also being held to help with the purchase of the new fire truck, with the drawing taking place at the department's annual Labor Day BBQ dinner, which will be held on Monday, September 4th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Frankville Fire Station. Prizes include three firearms, 2 half hogs, buffet certificates from Casino Queen Marquette, and more.
To purchase tickets, go to Frankville Emergency Volunteer Association's Facebook page, email frankvillefd@acegroup.cc or call Jeremy Hills at 563-568-1969. Tickets will also be available the day of the BBQ.
