22-year-old Kaleb Breitsprecher and 24-year-old Cole Breitsprecher, both of Ossian, say they will be entering "guilty" pleas to federal charges filed against them as a result of a lengthy multi-agency investigation involving local, state, and federal agencies.

Last month Kaleb and Cole Breitsprecher were indicted by a grand jury on federal charges. Kaleb Breitsprecher was indicted on multiple counts of distribution of a controlled substance – heroin and fentanyl and possession of firearms by a drug user.  Cole Breitsprecher was indicted on distribution of a controlled substance – heroin and fentanyl and possession of firearms by a drug user.

The indictment alleges Kaleb Breitsprecher distributed heroin to another person on or about April 5th, April 18th and May 19th.  It also alleges that on or about May 2nd, Cole Breitsprecher distributed fentanyl to another person.  Both men are also charged with being unlawful drug users in possession of multiple firearms.

This week both men sent notices to US District Court for Northern Iowa that they intend to file guilty pleas--although the extent of those pleas won't be known until Kaleb appears in court in Cedar Rapids on Friday and Cole appears in court possibly next week.

If convicted on all charges, Kaleb Breitsphrecher faces a maximum sentence of 70 years in prison, $3.25 million in fines and up to a lifetime term of supervised release if released from prison.  Cole Breitsprecher faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, $1.25 million in fines and a lifetime term of supervised release if released from prison.
