The Oneota Valley Community Orchestra is announcing their concert repertoire and schedule for their fourth season.
The first concert will be held Sunday, October 22nd at 2:30 p.m. and will feature "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copland and "The Unanswered Question" by Charles Ives.
The next concert will be held Sunday, February 25th at 2:00 pm. and will include Beethoven's "Egmont Overture," Haydn's "Symphony No. 101 'The Clock')" and Mozart's "Flute Concerto," featuring Kayla Burggraf on flute.
The season finale concert will be held Sunday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. and will feature Korsakov's "Russian Easter Overture," Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" and Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 2 ('Little Russian')."
"I'm looking forward to this upcoming season!" says OVCO Director Matthew Cody. "We had such a fantastic end to our third season. I'm excited to continue growing our members and performing quality classical music."
The OVCO attracts volunteer musicians from throughout the Driftless region and is currently looking to fill positions in Principal Bass, Principal Percussion, Section Percussion, and Bassoon. There also are openings in all string sections. A non-audition ensemble, the OVCO rehearses weekly on Sundays and performs two to four times each season.
