DAR essay contest is underway

Northeast Iowa 5th through 8th graders are being invited to participate in an essay contest being held by the DAR.

This year's essays will discuss "World War I: Remembering the War to End All Wars."  This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the "Great War."  Writers will be asked to imagine they are living in 1918 and will discuss the pros and cons of the changes this War introduced to daily life.  Essays should be from 300 to 1,000 words long.
