Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports a motor vehicle accident

On Friday at 6:48 p.m. 25-year-old Rusty Cook of Decorah was traveling southbound on 245th Avenue in his 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. 22-year-old Jared Adam of Decorah was traveling northbound on the same road in his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. When both vehicles crested the top of a hill, Adam was near the middle of the roadway and Cook swerved to avoid Adam. Adam's driver side mirror collided with Cook's mirror causing both mirrors to break and cause a small dent in Cook's quarter panel. Adam left the scene.

No injuries were reported. Adam was cited for failure to yield half of roadway and was given a warning for leaving the scene of an accident.
