The Decorah Community School Board has voted their approval for a request from Upper Explorerland to exit the Decorah MetroNet. The exit needs to approved by the existing MetroNet group, and Winneshiek County and the City of Decorah have already approved the exit request.
The exit comes about because Upper Explorerland is unable to continue financial contributions. However, the agreement calls for them to pay approximately $2500 for each of the next 10 years for their encumbered fees. They will continue to have internet access, but none of the other services and privileges of membership.
