Decorah dog park receives a large donation

The fund drive for the Decorah Dog Park has gotten a boost from… pretzels!

Decorah dog enthusiast Gail Bolson Magnuson was in her kitchen recently when the large bag of pretzels caught her eye. That's when she came up with the idea to make and sell "pretzel necklaces" to help raise money for Decorah's dog park. 

With help from her niece Janae Bolson, Gail created about 100 pretzel necklaces to sell to RAGBRAI riders and others visiting Decorah during Nordic Fest weekend. They collected over $1,360 in donations for the dog park.

Dog Park Committee members say people can also donate to the cause soon at the Winneshiek Farmers Market, at the group's GO FUND ME page at www.gofundme.com/decorahdogpark, or by mailing a donation to:
