Consulting firm coming to Decorah Tuesday to look for solution to the sinkhole on Upper Broadway

City of Decorah workers have not been able yet to come up with a solution to the street problem on Upper Broadway.

Early last month a sinkhole developed and damaged the pavement near Phelps Park.  Crews repaired the damage--and then a water main broke. 

City engineering consultant Lindsay Erdman says an out-of-town company will be in Decorah Tuesday with "ground-penetrating radar" in an effort to figure out where the entire sinkhole is located.  "We're trying to trace this," says Erdman.  Once the sinkhole is mapped, Erdman hopes a more permanent solution to the sinkhole can be found.
