July in Decorah was warmer and dryer than average

Temperatures in Decorah during July got no higher than the 90 degree highs recorded on the 6th, 12th and 18th.  Even so, the average temperature in Decorah in July was 73.3 degrees--0.7 degrees warmer than average.

It was the 10th month during the past year that temperatures were above average in Decorah.  Six of the past 12 months have been in the top 20 for average temperatures, compared with the more than 120 years during which temperature readings have been recorded in Decorah.

Decorah had 2.75 inches of rain during July, including three days with more than half an inch of rain.  The total was 1.29 inches less than the average precipitation of 4.04 inches, however.  But Decorah still has a precipitation surplus of 21.24 inches over the last 12 months.
