Canadian Pacific Railroad says a 13-car train derailed Tuesday morning, west of Calmar, near 175th Street.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and Winneshiek County Emergency Management responded to the scene. The cars involved were two locomotives and cars containing corn. All the cars remained upright.
175th Street is closed from Calmar to the golf course. 248th Avenue and 253rd Avenue on the north side of 175th Street are also closed.
Repairs to the tracks are expected to be done by midnight Tuesday.
