Winneshiek County continues to work on an agreement for sharing its computer equipment with the City of Decorah

The City of Decorah officially notified Winneshiek County May 22nd that it no longer wanted to share IT staff with Winneshiek County.

As part of the changes brought on by that notice, Winneshiek County officials continue to work on the language of a "Winneshiek County--City of Decorah Shared Information Technology Equipment, Systems and Usage 28e Agreement."

County supervisors met with County IT Director Steven Smith on Monday to review a first draft of the agreement. The document calls for the City of Decorah to pay Winneshiek County $1,000 a month beginning this September and running through June of 2021 for past use of the county's IT equipment.  It also includes a complete listing of what equipment has been purchased and which government has the responsibility for maintaining that equipment.

The jointly-operated Bomgar software was temporarily shut down recently, with not everyone being notified beforehand, but city and county staff have resolved that problem.
