NICC has named a new executive assistant to the president and Board of Trustees secretary.
Julia Sollien will assist NICC President Dr. Liang Chee Wee by managing schedules, relations, strategic priorities, communications and administrative duties; will serve as a member of the President's Cabinet; will coordinate Board of Trustee meetings; and will assure that all legal requirements and statutory responsibilities are met.
Prior to her new position at NICC, Sollien held various academic and administrative roles at the University of Iowa, Kirkwood Community College, the State University of New York, the University of Minnesota, Capella University, Rasmussen College, Forest Stewardship Council and most recently Park Nicollet Health Services Foundation in Minneapolis, Minn. She earned a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Library and Information Science, both from the University of Iowa.
She and husband David Sollien, a Decorah native, live in Decorah.
Sollien replaces Janet Bullerman of rural Calmar, who had served in the position since 1987.
