Sheriff's Office is busy--even before RAGBRAI

The Winneshiek county sheriff's Office says its deputies handled three separate incidents this week.

At 3:00 Friday morning, deputies arrested 37-year-old  Kevin Hoeltzle of Canton, MInnesota on Highway 9 at 345th Avenue on a charge of Operating While under the Influence.  He was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.

Around 10:45 Thursday night, 19-year-old Jeffrey Corbin of Trenton, Missouri was arrested on a charge of Disorderly Conduct after deputies were called to Bluffton.  Corbin also is in custody in the Winneshiek County Jail.

Finally, Thursday morning around 8:15, deputies were called to the scene of an accident at Highway 52 and Middle Calmar Road.  15-year-old Anthony Hanson of Decorah had stopped on Highway 52 to make a left turn onto Middle Calmar Road when his van was struck by a semi operated by 31-year-old Anthony Miller of Dodgeville, Wisconsin.  Miller was ticketed for failure to maintain control.  The accident caused $6,500 in damages.  Neither driver was injured.
