RAGBRAI 8:15AM UPDATE: Getting around town Friday not that hard, despite 10,000 bike riders

RAGBRAI riders head into Decorah

The first RAGBRAI bike riders came through Decorah before 6:00 Friday morning, having gotten an early departure from Cresco, on their way to Waukon.

By mid-morning, the number of bike riders had picked up sharply.  RAGBRAI riders flooded into downtown Decorah to take part in Nordic Fest and refuel for the rest of Friday's ride.

Motorists who were trying to get around town had little trouble doing so, at least in the early part of the day.  The College Drive Bridge smoothly handled both vehicle and bicycle traffic, while two other crossings in the city limits went smoothly.

Toppling Goliath and Pulpit Rock were busy--even at 7:30 a.m.
