For many people who are on RAGBRAI, the bike ride's trip through Decorah on Friday won't be complete without a stop at Toppling Goliath, the famous microbrewery whose beers have been ranked among the top beers in the world.
Toppling Goliath General Manager Curt Wymer tells decorahnews.com, "We're about as prepared as we can be."
Wymer says previous special release events at the sampling room on College Drive have given Toppling Goliath employees practice in handling large crowds. It's been "all hands on deck" for those employees as they get ready for RAGBRAI on Friday.
The challenge on Friday will be to predict how many people will show up wanting to sample Toppling Goliath beers. In addition, Wymer says he believes many people will want to stay awhile at the College Drive location, where space will be at a premium. However, Toppling Goliath will store extra beer kegs on site and will also be ready to bring more beer from its bottling plant.
In all, giving bike riders a sample of TG beers might be "a challenge," but Wymer says the staff is ready to meet that challenge.
