Perfect weather for Nordic Fest opening ceremonies

Opening ceremonies for the 2017 Nordic Fest were held Thursday evening in front of a large crowd at the Winneshiek County Courthouse.

The weather was perfect for the beginning of Nordic Fest--temperatures in the 70s and 80s and mostly blue skies.

Thursday night's ceremonies included many traditional events--performances by the Luren Singers and the Nordic Dancers, the Nordic Fest Flag Ceremony, introductions of the Nordic Fest Board, the 2017 Nordic Fest Grand Marshal Charlie Langton and the 2017 Nordic Fest Flag Recipient Sally Stromseth.
