Former Luther student elected chair of Iowa Democratic Party

A former Luther College student, Troy Price, has been elected the new chair of the Iowa Democratic Party. Price attended Luther for two years, then graduated from the University of Iowa.

Price was the former executive director of the Iowa Democratic Party. He has been chosen by the party's state central committee to succeed Derek Eadon, who resigned earlier this summer for medical reasons. A Durant native, Price also worked in the administrations of Governors Tom Vilsack and Chet Culver and led One Iowa, the state's largest LGBT advocacy group.  Price also has worked behind the scenes as political director for President Obama's Iowa re-election campaign and Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.
