Ossian prepares for RAGBRAI 2017

Ossian is busy preparing for RAGBRAI riders passing through on Friday.

Food will be available everywhere up and down Main Street for the 2017 Ossian RAGBRAI Event. Featured foods include "homemade" ham balls, maid rites, brats, apples, chips, bars, cookies, Scratch cupcakes, homemade pies, and shakes from the Moo Mobile. The South Winneshiek Trap Team will serve soft serve ice cream. The traditional beverage garden will be available at Carey's Park.
 
Music will be filling the air at the newly completed Ossian Educational and Performance Pavilion as part of the 2017 RAGBRAI Event. Michelle Lynn will be featured from 9:00 a.m.--10:00 a.m. followed by Yukon Cornelius and the Mussels of Love (Mike Klimesh Band) from 10:00 a.m.--12:00 noon. Mike McAbee will perform from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Much more entertainment will be at Stage 2, on Lydia Street/Becker Avenue, Stage 3, on the Luana Bank Lot, and Stage 4, Wild Woods Event Center.
 
A "human" foosball game will be one of the highlights of the entertainment for the 2017 RAGBRAI in Ossian. The foosball game will take place on North Lydia Street in front of Bambinos. The Ossian Senior Hospice will feature "Games on the Green" including miniature golf, bag games, yard Yahtzee, and the hi striker game.  The "Water Slosh" pool will be set up along Mary Street to provide riders a dip in Ossian's new mini pool.
 
Bicycle signs will adorn the route from Cresco to Decorah and Decorah to Ossian. These signs will remind the RAGBRAI riders of the special foods, entertainment and other games waiting for them at the 2017 Ossian RAGBRAI. Photo opportunities will be offered at Casey's Corner, in front of Shooters and at the Ossian Senior Hospice. Decorated bicycles will be lined up and down Main Street. The Winneshiek Medical Clinic – Ossian will be open for first-aid concerns.
 
Some local cross streets will be closed for 2017 Ossian RAGBRAI including West Street, Lydia Street, Mary Street and Boody Street.
