Pulpit Rock Brewing Co. is making plans to serve large numbers of RAGBRAI participants on Friday.
Pulpit Rock Manager Whitney Hirth says she is anticipating numbers in the 15,000 - 20,000 range. RAGBRAI participants will pass right by the brewery as they pedal into town on College Drive.
Hirth says everyone at Pulpit Rock is really looking forward to the event. They will open at 7:00 a.m. and will have expanded serving areas and staff to accommodate the large numbers. They will have a reduced number of beers on tap (3-4 instead of their usual 9) to keep things moving quickly. Seating will be available in the tap room, in the nearly complete, newly renovated front part of the building, and in the large outdoor area and parking lot along the side of the building. Secure bike parking will be available in Carl Selland Park -- across the street from the brewery on 5th Avenue.
In addition to their local brews, Pulpit Rock will be selling scones, teas, and Nitro Cold Brew coffee thanks to food vendors and Impact Coffee, which will be on site. Pulpit Rock Brewing Co. merchandise -- shirts, hats, cuzis, glassware, and crowlers -- will also be available to purchase.
Pulpit Rock will open at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, 12:00 p.m. (noon) Thursday, 7:00 a.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. Saturday.
