Ossian residents Kaleb and Cole Breitsprecher will return to federal court in Cedar Rapids at 4:00 Tuesday afternoon.
The two brothers, ages 22 and 24, respectively, have made initial court appearances in Cedar Rapids. The indictment alleges Kaleb Breitsprecher distributed heroin to another person on or about April 5th, April 18th and May 19th. It also alleges that on or about May 2nd, Cole Breitsprecher distributed fentanyl to another person. Both men are also charged with being unlawful drug users in possession of multiple firearms.
If convicted on all charges, Kaleb Breitsphrecher faces a maximum sentence of 70 years in prison, $3.25 million in fines and up to a lifetime term of supervised release if released from prison. Cole Breitsprecher faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, $1.25 million in fines and a lifetime term of supervised release if released from prison.
The two men will appear in United States District Court in Cedar Rapids on July 25th for detention hearings.
