Steve e-mails: "When will the public find broadcasts of Board of Supervisor meetings available to watch?"
Mr. Answer Person says: "While Decorah City Council meetings are recorded, then rebroadcast on the local access channel and posted to You Tube, neither Decorah School Board meetings nor Winneshiek County Board meetings are available to watch.
The technology used by the City of Decorah is available for the school district and for the county. That's not the barrier to doing this. However, school board meetings and county board meetings are both longer than city council meetings, on average. So county and school district officials wonder if anyone would really want to watch a four hour-long county board meeting, for instance. In the case of the Board of Supervisors, they meeting each and every Monday, with very rare exceptions, so how much of an appetite is there for 15 hours a month of county board videos?
Readers, do you care to weigh in?"
