Federal charges filed against two Ossian residents

Charges have now been filed in connection with last month's police raid on a home in Ossian.

Federal Indictments have been filed against 22-year-old Kaleb Breitsprecher and 24-year-old Cole Breitsprecher, both of Ossian.  On the morning of June 6th, officers served several federal search warrants in Ossian as a result of a lengthy multi-agency investigation involving local, state, and federal agencies.

On Tuesday Kaleb and Cole Breitsprecher were indicted by a grand jury on federal charges. Kaleb Breitsprecher was indicted on multiple counts of distribution of a controlled substance – heroin and fentanyl and possession of firearms by a drug user.  Cole Breitsprecher was indicted on distribution of a controlled substance – heroin and fentanyl and possession of firearms by a drug user. 

On Thursday Kaleb and Cole Breitsprecher were arrested on federal arrest warrants.  They were placed into the custody of the US Marshall Service and transported to a federal holding facility. 

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says this is an ongoing investigation and additional charges and arrests are pending.
