Traffic accident causes $3,000 in damages

The Decorah Police Department responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Water Street and Winnebago Street Thursday evening.

68-year-old Norman Ronald of Lime Springs was westbound on Water Street at 6:57 p.m. He was stopped at the stoplight at the intersection of Winnebago Street behind 22-year-old Erin Ellefsen of Indianapolis, IN. Ellefsen intended to turn left onto Winnebago Street when Ronald's 2017 Ford F250  struck the back of Ellefsen's 2005 Nissa Altima when the light turned green.

Ronald's vehicle sustained only minor damage, but Ellefsen's vehicle sustained $3,000 in damages. No charges were filed and no injuries were reported.
