Decorah Police Department releases Special Traffic Enforcement Program results

The Decorah Police Department participated in the Special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP) from July 1st through July 4th. During this time, 11 officers from the Decorah Police Department compiled the following statistics:

• 1 Driving with a Revoked/Suspended license citation
  
• 1 Speeding citation
  
• 1 Traffic violation citation
  
• 1 Non-injury motor vehicle accident investigation
  
• 8 Assists to motorists
  
• 1 Stop Sign/Stop Light violation citation
  
• 10 Speed warnings
  
• 1 Canine search
  
• 5 Narcotics Violation arrests
• 1 Seat belt citation
• 7 Open Container citations
• 30 Traffic violation warnings

Decorah's seat belt usage was recorded at 91% compliance pre-sTEP, and 92% post-sTEP.
