Zoning issues have occasionally been controversial in the past before the Winneshiek county Board. But two zoning related issues sailed through Monday with unanimous approval.
Bernie and Colleen Wetli want to change the zoning on a piece of land they own along the Upper Iowa River. Supervisors have rejected a few previous requests that they felt didn't fit in with the neighboring properties along the river, but the Wetlis say they plan to do only remodeling and a small addition on the house they own. Supervisors John Beard called approving the proposal "a no-brainer," and the four other supervisors agreed.
Likewise, Lensing Holstein representatives came before the county board to discuss their application to the DNR under the state's master matrix. Once again the request was approved unanimously.
