The Decorah School District has hired two new administrators.
The new Carrie Lee Elementary School principal will be former Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont principal Sarah Tobiason. She will replace former Carrie Lee Elementary Principal Cheryl Miller, who is becoming the North Winneshiek principal. Tobiason also will serve as District special education coordinator, a role previously filled by John Cline/West Side Principal Rick Varney. A salary of $80,000 will be recommended to the School Board.
The new Decorah Middle School assistant principal and activities director will be Decorah native Jake Nimrod. He has been hired for the new position. Nimrod is a 1997 graduate of Decorah High School and a 2001 Luther College graduate. He previously taught in Lexington, Kentucky, and Spirit Lake, Stanton and Norwalk in Iowa. A salary of $65,000 will be recommended to the School Board.
