Bellino Fireworks is open for business in Decorah. They have set up a tent in the parking lot of Centrum Plaza, between McDonald's and the Marine Credit Union. There has been a steady stream of customers of all ages excited to look at and shop for fireworks legally in Iowa.

As you enter the tent, there is an assortment of items that appeal to the younger kids from black snakes, poppers, darts, parachutes and turtles along with the ever-popular sparklers and firecrackers. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the sales tent.

Several items have already sold out, including a couple of big ticket items such as sky titans and 50 caliber artillery shells. Whistle blowers, like bottle rockets, have also been very popular.  Prices start as low as 25 cents for the party poppers.

Bellino offers a buy one, getthree free sale on select products, including motor tubes, firecrackers, sparklers and many other fireworks.  They also offer an app that shows how each individual firework looks when it goes off.

Even though it is legal to purchase fireworks in Decorah, it is still illegal to set them off within city limits. According to police chief Bill Nixon, "There is no change in  Decorah's ordinance, any fireworks discharge is still prohibited in city limits."

From June 1st--July 8th it is legal to have a consumer display outside the city limits, as opposed to a commercial display, like the one Decorah puts on during Nordic Fest.

Bellino Fireworks will be open until July 4th.
