Emerald Ash Borer has now been confirmed in 50 counties in Iowa.

The latest discoveries of Emerald Ash Borer have come in Cresco and Charles City.  EAB was also discovered recently in Benton County, Buena Vista County and Warren County.  Insect samples were submitted from these sites and positively identified by the USDA.

EAB is an exotic pest that attacks and kills ash trees.  Winneshiek County is one of the 50 counties where EAB has been confirmed.  Already a number of ash trees in Decorah have been cut down after getting infected with EAB.
