WMC Auxiliary Card Marathon raises $1120

The WMC Auxiliary card marathon players raised $1120 for the Auxiliary in 2017.
 
At an appreciation coffee, the winners of the marathon received their awards. They were:
    Bridge Group A
        1st – Elaine Bodensteiner and Mary Bohr
        2nd – Lillian Bruvold and Raejean Rathje

     Bridge Group B
        1st  – Marilyn Wahlberg and Marilyn Peterson
        2nd – Elaine Bodensteiner and Mary Bohr
 
    Bridge Group C
        1st – Rose Peterson and Pat Ward
        2nd – Jeanne Lechtenberg and Gerry Sorenson
 
    Bridge Group D
        1st – Elaine Bodensteiner and Mary Bohr
        2nd – Lillian Bruvold and Pat Ward
 
    500 Group E
        1st – Mabel Schwamman and Ethel Neuzil
        2nd – Evelyn Elsbernd and Anna Mae Kuhn
     
    500 Group F
        1st – Rosemary Vopava and Ardy Triska
        2nd –Elsie Swehla and Helen Zbornik
 
Karla Bakken, volunteer coordinator and liaison to the WMC Auxiliary, says, "This group of community-minded card players has consistently given over $1000 to the WMC Auxiliary each year.  We are deeply appreciative of their dedication to supporting local health care through the card marathon."  Funds from the card marathon are used to purchase equipment to provide or support patient care at Winneshiek Medical Center.
 
Bridge and 500 will again be offered this fall. Card playing begins in September and continues through May. Registrants are welcome to sign up for more than one marathon.
 
Contact Gerry Sorenson at 563-382-2669 by July 31, 2017 to register. 

The entry fee is $10 per person and participants are asked to sign up with a partner.  A schedule for the 2017-2018 season will be given to each player in August.
