Fareway Stores, Inc. recently unveiled a series of semi-trucks honoring public service members from throughout the state. The trailers showcase photographs of 24 members from various branches of public service, including the Iowa National Guard, Iowa State Troopers, and local law enforcement agencies.

"We want to show our appreciation of their everyday commitment to protecting our freedoms," said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. "These trailers are a tribute to the great men and women serving Iowa and we thank them for their service."

When the Decorah Fareway store managers learned one of the "Salute to Service" trailers would be in Decorah on Tuesday, they decided to hold an appreciation event to honor local public service members. Local service agencies were invited to come and enjoy treats and coffee from Beyond the Bar Bakery & Java John's in appreciation of their service to the Decorah community.
