Traffic accident causes $6,000 in damages

Decorah Police say a two-vehicle accident on Montgomery Street Thursday resulted in $6,000 in damages.

51-year-old Tammy Hove of Ossian was stopped at 415 Montgomery Street  waiting for pedestrian traffic to clear before turning into the driveway when 61-year-old Nancy Flaskerud of Ridgeway struck the back of Hove's car. Flaskerud did not noticed the stopped car until it was too late.

Neither driver was injured but both vehicles sustained $3,000 in damages. Flaskerud was ticketed with failure to stop in the assured clear distance.
