Winneshiek Medical Center has weaker financial performance in April

Winneshiek Medical Center officials say the hospital and clinic's total patient revenue of $8.5 million in April was 10 percent lower than March's figure and was below the budget estimate. 

Total Net Operating Revenues for April 2017 were $4.9 million, which was below budget by 4 percent, but above April of 2016's performance by 6 percent.
 
April's Total Operating Expenses totaled $4.8 million, which were favorable to budget for the month.

Compared to last year at this time, operating expenses have increased 6.7 percent while net revenues have increased 2.8 percent.

Winneshiek Medical Center had an Operating Gain of $119,065 in April.  Because of $148,515 in contributions from the Winneshiek Medical Center Foundation for the purchase of an ultrasound machine and a bladder, the hospital showed a net gain for April of $317,917.  Year-to-date the Net Gain, which consists of net operating revenues of $1,048,435 and non-operating revenues of $893,187, is $1,941,622.
