Memorial Day parade takes place under sunny skies

Memorial Day in Decorah on Monday featured a ceremony at the College Drive Bridge, a parade to downtown and a program at the Courthouse.

This year's speaker at the program at the Courthouse was retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Lucinda (Cindy) M. Yslas, a 1984 graduate from Crestwood High School.  Yslas moved back to Iowa after retiring from the Air Force in February of 2014.  She continues to give back to the community by volunteering on committees through the Regional Health Services of Howard County as a volunteer and as the hospital auxiliary's vice president and as an active PTO member for Howard Winneshiek's Crestwood Elementary.
