The Decorah Police Department is warning that there is a partial log jam blockage on the Upper Iowa River.
Police are warning river goers to be careful on the section of the river from the Bluffton Road bridge near Pole Line Road south to the Pole Line Road bridge near the former Tatro Airport (the area is between the two red lines on the map above).
Police say several other trees and snags have been observed throughout the Upper Iowa River area in Winneshiek County due to recent storms. They're asking people who spend time on the river this holiday weekend to carry personal flotation devices and to be alert for possible river hazards.
