The owners of a farm in northern Winneshiek County which had been investigated for livestock problems will NOT be prosecuted.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office issued a statement Wednesday which said, "The Iowa Department of Agriculture and State Veterinarian's Office have concluded their investigation and will not pursue prosecution. State Veterinarian Dr. Gary Eiben and State Livestock Inspector Marc Rue investigated this matter and placed the farmers on a livestock recovery plan. Dr. Eiben's report indicates the farmers complied with the conditions of the recovery plan, significantly improving the health of the herd."
Dr. Eiben states this case is resolved and needs no further action.
