A Luther College graduate as Ambassador to the Vatican? You heard right!

CNN, the "New York Times" and several other national news media are reporting that President Donald Trump will name Luther College graduate Callista Gingrich as the next U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican.  The story was first broken by CNN: http://edition.cnn.com/2017/05/14/politics/callista-gingrich-vatican-ambassador/index.html

Gingrich grew up in tiny Whitehall, Wisconsin, north of La Crosse.  She went to Luther College and graduated in 1988.  She is described as a "devout Catholic."

President Trump is scheduled to meet with the Pope on May 24th and reportedly wants to make the announcement of Gingrich's appointment before then--possibly this week.
