Decorah Middle School students participate in State History Day competition in Des Moines

14 Eighth graders at Decorah Middle School recently participated in the State History Day competition held in Des Moines.

Three of their projects qualified for the final round of competition:
Individual Documentary:
Noah Lovelace: Wayne Cooley: Taking a Stand for the Iowa Girl
Noah's project won an award for Outstanding Entry in Iowa History.

Group Performance:
Leila Johnson and Sofie Grouws: Mildred Fish-Harnack and the Red Orchestra: Taking a Stand Against Hitler and the Nazi Party

Group Exhibit:
Emma Brauer and Kendra Bigler: Dr. Williams: Opening Hospitals, Hearts, and Minds
