As decorahnews.com reported earlier (http://www.decorahnews.com/news-stories/2017/05/16537.html) any traffic charges stemming from the crash of the Dahly Bridge into the Upper Iowa River would be filed not by local authorities, but by the Iowa Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Enforcement department.
KCRG-TV is now reporting (http://www.kcrg.com/content/news/Man-charged-for-Winneshiek-County-bridge-collapse-422142833.html) that state officials have charged the driver of the feed truck, 29-year-old Justin Hippen of Parkersburg, with violating a weight embargo.
Crews worked through last Friday to remove the debris and completed their work late Friday afternoon, allowing the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office to announce that the Upper Iowa is now back open to canoers, kayakers and the like.
