Motorcycle accident sends Decorah woman to the hospital

The Decorah Police Department says a Decorah woman was injured around 6:00 Thursday night when the brakes on her motorcycle apparently locked up.

48-year-old Julie Christopher was turning left onto Highway 9 from Short Street and had almost completed her turn when there was a noise and Christopher was thrown off the motorcycle.  A witness said he heard what sounded like the brakes locking up on the motorcycle.

Christopher was taken to the emergency room at Winneshiek Medical Center with injuries to her right shoulder, neck and back.
