Four members of the Decorah High School FFA Club have qualified to compete in the Iowa FFA Agronomy Contest June 8th at Iowa State University in Ames.
Daniel Schwartzhoff, Anna Hanson, Hailey Nierling and Stacia Sexton finished second out of 14 teams at a District competition. Schwartzhoff finished in fourth place in the individual standings, while Hanson finished 8th.
The students evaluated various crop production aspects, including hay quality, silage samples, seed quality, and corn and soybean marketing. The students also took a fifty question multiple-choice exam covering agronomic practices.
