Decorah retailers are encouraging people to "Shop Decorah"

Decorah area retailers and the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce have begun a campaign to encourage residents to shop locally.

The educational campaign, called "#SHOPDECORAH," will discuss the benefits of shopping locally.  For instance, 68 cents of every dollar spent locally stays in the community, compared with 47 cents of every dollar spent with out-of-town businesses.  Also, small businesses donate 250 percent more than large businesses to local charities and non-profits.,

As part of the campaign, posters for #SHOPDECORAH have been posted at local stores.
