The Spectrum Network has reached its $105,000 fundraising goal

The Spectrum Network says it has raised the money necessary to qualify for a grant from the USDA.

A $5,400 donation from the group 100+ Men Who Care: Driftless Chapter allowed Spectrum to reach its goal of getting $105,000 in donations.  The money means Spectrum qualifies for a $99,999 USDA Rural Development grant.  With the money, Spectrum will build a food aggregation and cold storage unit, along with a commercial-grade community kitchen.

Through the initiative, clients of The Spectrum Network will get training opportunities and integrated employment.

The Spectrum Network Executive Director Bev Fredericks says her agency has begun purchasing kitchen items for the new facility.  Construction will begin soon, with the goal of having the kitchen up and running some time in November of this year.
