A project is underway to improve the area around Decorah's recycling bins

Crews have been working this week to improve the area around the recycling bins in the 48-hour parking lot in Decorah.

A new crushed asphalt surface has been put down for underneath the recycling bins.  Winneshiek County Recycling staff says the new surface should create a lot less dust than regular crushed rock.  Crews are now working on leveling the surface and packing it before moving the recycling bins back into place.  Crews also added some gravel to the parking lot to improve that area as well.
