U.S. News and World Report is out with its ranking of high schools in the United States--and has named Decorah HS the top high school in Iowa.
The website notes that 52 percent of Decorah High School students take part in Advanced Placement® course work and exams and that the student body makeup is 52 percent male and 48 percent female, with five percent of enrollment consisting of minority students.
In finishing as the top high school in the state, Decorah High School beat Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Linn-Mar, Ames, West Liberty, Cedar Rapids Washington, West Des Moines Valley, Waukee, Cedar Falls and Ankeny Centennial.
