The Decorah Historic Preservation Commission will present its annual Historic Preservation Award to volunteers Norb Bohr and Pete Meyer and to the Decorah Street Department for their ongoing maintenance of the brick paving on Court Street in downtown Decorah.

The award will be presented at 5:00 on Monday, May 8th, in the lobby of the Hotel Winneshiek.  Light hors d'oeuvres will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase. The general public is encouraged to attend.

For several years Norb Bohr and Pete Meyer have helped maintain the 100-year-old brick paving on Court Street.  The repairs have been especially challenging and important at intersections and drain collection points and next to the newly installed gutters along the north section of Court Street.

Bohr and Meyer have been assisted by the Street Department, led by Kevin Nelson.  According to Nelson, the Street Department staff has learned much from the volunteer "masters," and now carry on repairs of their own.
